Wisteria
Presentation
A spectacular climbing plant
Wisteria’s enchanting beauty and heady scent are a genuine feast for the senses. Native to the Far East, wisteria is often associated with elegance and grace.
Its beauty lies in its hanging clusters of flowers, which can vary in colour from deep purple to soft pink or bright white. Its delicate and luxuriant cascading flowers bloom in spring, transforming the gardens of your favourite eco-friendly campsite into a dream landscape.
Here at our four-star campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette®, you’ll find wisteria blooming at the start of the season and sometimes even in summer. Its purple flowers are deliciously fragrant!
What makes wisteria truly unforgettable is indeed its captivating scent. The flowers exhale a sweet, heady perfume that fills the air and attracts pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, contributing to the magic of the spring season.
Beautiful but sometimes dangerous
In addition to its visual splendour and irresistible scent, wisteria is a profoundly symbolic plant, often associated with romance, gentleness and gratitude. It is therefore a popular choice for weddings and romantic celebrations.
But beware! Despite its captivating beauty and scent, some varieties of wisteria are toxic if ingested. It is therefore important to take precautions when handling the plant.
Where to find it at the campsite
Our wisteria grows on a post on the corner of Allée de l’Argentière and Allée de La Pascalinette (nr. 2 on the botanical footpath plan).
