Golden bamboo

Graphic art at the campsite
Resistant and vigorous, golden bamboo is the most famous and widely-used garden bamboo variety of them all. It features aniseed green stalks (or canes) tending towards a yellow colour. The older the plant gets, the more its colour tends towards orange when the plant is exposed to the sun. Its Japanese name means “Bamboo from the Kingdom of Fairies”. Magical!
A very fast-growing plant, golden bamboo has bushy, pale green and delightfully decorative perennial leaves. It is often used as a hedge or screen.
The young golden bamboo shoots are edible (although we don’t have any pandas here at our four-star campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette®. And luckily so, because they love bamboo so much they consumer huge quantities every day!).
The stalks of the golden bamboo are almost as strong as steel. They are often used as plant tutors or to build pergolas and fences.
This plant loves sunshine or semi-shade but beware, it grows very fast indeed! Rustic, easy to maintain and fairly resistant to drought, it is one of the favourites of our campsite gardeners as it requires very little upkeep 😉
Where to find it at the campsite
Golden bamboo is an integral part of our exceptional vegetation, adding an additional charming touch to the terrace of your mobile home or tent pitch during your stay at our beautiful campsite in the Var, French Riviera-Côte d’Azur.
