Cordyline australis
Presentation
Graphic and elegant
Cordyline australis, commonly known as the cabbage tree, is a spectacular plant native to New Zealand and Australia. It is one of the absolute favourites of our four-star campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette ®. Widely found on the Côte d’Azur, this slow-growing palm tree is appreciated for its elegant silhouette, long, narrow leaves and tropical air, making it a great addition to every exotic garden.
Cordyline australis is characterized by its unique, thin trunk, topped with a tuft of arched leaves. The leaves vary in colour, from bright green to deep purple, shades of bronze or red, adding a gorgeous splash of colour and movement to the exceptional vegetation forming the backdrop to your camping holiday in the Var area, French Riviera-Côte d’Azur.
Tropical and exotic
Versatile and requiring little upkeep, Cordyline australis thrives in our region where the sun shines almost 300 days a year! You will come across it often during your strolls in the Coins de Paradis ® (Corners of Paradise) recommended by the campsite team! It can also tolerate a bit of shade and moderate humidity.
Scattered throughout the campsite, the Cordyline’s graphic appearance and unusual purple foliage never fail to delight.
This hardy plant can also be grown in pots and used to create exotic touches on patios, balconies or even indoors.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, Cordyline australis is good for the environment. It provides a habitat for the local wildlife and therefore contributes to biodiversity. That’s also why we love it here at our nature campsite!
