Located inside Port-Cros National Park on the Saint-Tropez peninsula in the Var, French Riviera-Côte d’Azur, this little trail leads from Plage de l’Escalet beach to the protected site of Cap Taillat.

Measuring 3.5 kilometres (i.e. around one hour), the trail was designed to nurture the plant and animal life of this magnificent “area of floristic, faunal and ecological value”, also protected by the Coastal Conservancy. As you know, our nature campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette® is committed to the environment too, so we particularly recommend visiting this beautifully-preserved site.

The walk is easy but you’ll need trainers to make your way to the sandy isthmus (a geological curiosity found at various locations in the region). The walk starts from one of the beach car parks (the northernmost car park is free in summer). Walk 300 metres, crossing the private property to the paying car park (available in summer only), where you’ll find the start of the coastal footpath to Cap Taillat.

You’ll simply love the gorgeous little coves dotted along the way. Some are naturist!

A panoramic view of Provence!

Also referred to as Cap Cartaya, the cape spans the towns of Ramatuelle and La Croix-Valmer. Interestingly, it is also connected to the coast by a sandy isthmus (locally known as a “tombolo”).

You can opt for a sandy or shingle beach depending on which side you choose. These wild and preserved beaches are among the most beautiful in Ramatuelle and the pride of the Var area!

If you enjoy the exceptional vegetation found at our four-star campsite Les Jardins de La Pascalinette®, you’ll love the authentic beauty of these magnificent natural beaches…

Once you arrive at the isthmus, head to the ancient watchtower, offering sweeping views from Cap Camarat in the East, with its lighthouse gazing out over the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, to Porquerolles island in the West, along with La Bastide Blanche vineyard and Cap Lardier.
